use a propane head if you can find one, a gas #5505 is also very good. at least 4 inch bore, 4 1/16 if you can find them. It will take some machining but you can bore the block, put sleeves from a 830 and have 4 1/4 bore. tweak the carb and add weights to pull in whatever class you want.

I'm getting ready to do a DC CASE also. In my search for an oversized piston kit, I was told that a JD 3020 piston/sleeve set (4 1/4" bore)will drop into the DC block with a little machining to the outside of the sleeves. Even after the extra machine work is done you'll have roughly the same $$ amount invested as you would for a stock DC Case replacement kit which are harder to find. The JD kits are easy to get and not as costly. Again, this is what I was told to do so I thought I'd pass it along to you as well. Good Luck...

The jd sleeve will not just drop in. It takes alot of machining to block and sleeve. We looked really close at one. Try the 830 sleeve. it will be easier to do, if you have access to a good machinist, try ih dt466 sleeve. it will require machining to block and sleeve but it is 4.30 bore and can be bored to 4.5 easy. email me with more questions.
