I have been wanting to try our 1066 in a pull, but am not sure what would be the best gear to pull in. It is just a plain 1066 with the pump turned up so nothing extreme. So can any of you expert pullers tell me what gear is best for me? Thanks!

most stock 1066s are running high 2nd.... that is all you can do..unless you run about 3500 rpm then you can do high 3rd...tops!!!!! !!!!! !

i have a question will turning the RPM's on the tractor hurt it? and will the pump let it go up that high? b/c if i can get our 1486 to turn 3,500 RPM's then i would like to give it a try but i don't want to hurt the engine.

Spencer; The pumps are an individual machine, with there own personality. Some will let you turn them up and some are already there. The 3,500 RPM's will not hurt the tractor. 3,000 is real common tho. The 1486 runs at 2,800 anyway. The pump needs to sent to a pump shop to get the most out of it. A 3LM turbo will help alot. Bigger lines, injectors and you have 350hp. H-2 is all an almost stock tractor will handle and on some tracks H-1.
