I have located a project 88 that is missing the rods, pistons and sleeves. The crank has had 1/2 inch stroke added. I have a set of stock 88 rods that I would like to use if possible but do not know if there is a piston that will work with the crank and rod combination.

I would like to get some info from some of you oliver guys out there on what my best option would be.

I am thinking of attempting to build something for the 3.5 mph classes.

This would be my first attempt at an oliver so any help would be appreciated.

thanks

I understand Mr. Morrow runs a radical powerplant from a well known Oliver source in Plain City Ohio. I would prefer to build something more reliable and less radical without taking a second mortgage on the farm.
Finding a piston that will work with a 1/2 inch stroker and a one piece rod would suit my needs.

One inch rod journals and Mazda rods do not appeal to me . I have seen and heard of too many of those type go down when they are lugged.

Those engines do however sound excellent and exhibit great power while they are together.

Trouble is I am not deep pocketed enough to rebuild/repair during the course of a season.

My sympathy goes out to Mr. Morrow for his engine failures.
