jd b puller:

Wow! Are you ready to go already? How many tons of lead did you get cram packed into those pistons? Since you are the resident "injunear" in these here parts, how many tons extra ballast is needed in the pistons and flywheels before one has developed perpetual motion? :>) Since money is no object to any of us on this board, what do you think of a set of titanium pistons and rods for a Johnny popper? And, while we are dreaming, how about making one into a 2 stroke, to kinda even out the pulsations? My very first tractor was a late B; still in love! Have a great weekend. best, Phil

Phil, without the pistons it weighs 3250# and with them it weighs 3569#. (Depleted Uranium is the way to go, much heavier than lead) By the time I get the monster power generating flywheel on, I am lucky to make the 4500# class. All this does no good if I can"t find a place to pull it though. It"s not my tractor, one I did for someone else. mine has lightweight pistons and rods in it...

To answer your other questions, I have seen Deeres where both pistons move the same direction but fire at 360 from each other. Cut the crank in half and rewelded it. Sounds very different.

Not sure what it would take to convert to 2-stroke, though I always thought that 2 strokes worked better at high RPMs not at 1500...
