All the "junk" below on the "Powerblocks at Tunica" post, of which, my posts were some of the junkiest should remind us all that we bend and stretch and interpret the rules to say pretty much what we want them to say. We ALL also have a tendency to excuse very apparent advantages for our tractor, or at least our favorite brand. I love tractor pulling and almost everything about it. This discussion board is my favorite form of entertainment. I hate TV. If I "stir you up" or "step on your toes", just remember that's what I wanted to do. I love to argue all sides of almost any issue that's not life-or-death important. It's just fun. Besides the fun, sometimes I learn good lessons. One of those lessons is "We ALL do it." Let's have fun.

Who do we ride home with? in reply to Lamont, 09-03-2005 21:11:50
It is expected that one SHOULD take full advantage of his or her tractor’s potential within the limits and confines of the “rules” as stated for a particular pulling class and regardless of how one may justify his actions, he knows deep within when he has stepped over the “line”.

We all review our performance during the drive home readying ourselves for the next pull. There will be two general lines of thought.

“Well, we just missed our setup....We should have moved a little to the left on that last pull...We might need some new plugs or points before the next pull.”

On the other hand, “Did you notice they weren’t checking hitch heights...I can’t believe no one was watching the scales when we went across them...I told you they wouldn’t be able to tell we had ground on these tires.”

All we need do is ask, "Who are we riding home with???"....Spotter

Most women will say that all men think about is $ex. Gpower is even more sick than the rest of us. All he thinks about is smoke!

You only have two cylinders, how much smoke can they possibly make? You know I'm just kidding, but with the current cost of fuel, every smoke cloud costs about $1.00 to make!

I think you're buddy Gpuller has just about mastered the smoke cloud from the pictures that I have seen. Hopefully, I can afford some of that this winter.

Gpower,
In times past the question was very much a high point of both thought and discussion but one has dismissed such concerns now that the driver steps off the tractor looking like "Rocky Raccoon" and the "Cheshire Cat" all rolled into one. Got any suggestions as to a proper set of goggles that we might purchase?....Oh, can that stuff cause asthma?? What can I say except "you da man"....Spotter

I agree 100 %,there isn't a sport of any kind where someone isn't bending or shaping the rules to meet the need for their personnal gain.I am into garden tractor pulling(not the big show but all I can afford LOL)and I too have bent a rule to meet my needs. The rules say that a stock tractor must have a "operable gov." mine is "operable " but is set to get the most rpms out of a stock B&S 12 hp cast motor(about 4400 rpms)anyway just my 2 cents.

Been pullin a stock m, its hopped up a little, maybe 50-55 hp, dont care if somebody is stretchin the rules a bit, if I go out and fullpull or come in 4th or 5th againts a 75-100 hp tractor, man thats sweet, I just want the pull well run and everybody treated fair, for what its worth.

Like someone said on this website just recently, "tractor pulling is the most fun you can have with your clothes on".
