I have a few Fiberglass suitcase weights that are exact copies of #100 IH weights. They weigh about 6lbs. each and will fool the heck out of the competition. Email me if anyone is interested. c_adgent@yahoo.com

It aint cheating how many times have any of you been the 4th or 5th puller and watched others pull then change your weights around. It's part of the game winning and having fun

Honest question here. What is the point? If anyone sees you grab one of those "100-lb." weights and throw it on and off with no strain, you're not going to be fooling anyone.

you are missing the point,if i throw 10 100 lbs weights on the front how many pounds did i put up there?
now throw 2 true 100 lbd weights and a couple of different cheater weights,no how much did i hang?
they make fiberglas, fiberglass with steel inside, and sand cast aluminum.
none of them weigh the same and no one and use your tractor as a gauge to tell where they should hang their weights.

Still sounds pointless. What's to be gained by screwing with somebody's head, or thinking you are? Unless their tractor is 100% identical to yours, nobody is going to be stupid enough to "steal" your setup. And if you do all that b.s., go out there and fall on your face, who fooled who???

you need to remember that most pullers pull against the same tractors most of the time.
all you have to do is watch them pull,in time you will figure out where evryone carries their weight and by simply looking at the tractor before the pass, you can gain ground by putting the weights on by the way their tractor went down the track.

Redman,
You have to remember that g/man doesn't pull, and only tells people what to do, without ever having done it. Remember it all rolls downhill. Go ahead g/man, post somemore and bs like always.

If one is pulling that much, wouldn't they figure their OWN setup out sooner or later?

no 2 tracks are the same.
a track will also change within as little time as 4 tractors.
hp is only part of the game, read the track and watch the other pullers and you can make an extra couple feet,it only takes an inch to win.

I haven't been around your type of pulling to any great degree, but the antique pullers I hang with know their own tractors and the various tracks well enough to weight their tractors, get in line and pull. It's usually enough of a pain and a flurry of activity around the scale that you make as few trips there as possible. And it only takes an inch to win pulling antiques, too.

once weighed you don't have to go back, just swap around to where you need them.
the antiques probably don't carry the risk of a roll over either.

They carry less risk of roll over, but it can happen. I have seen people in open classes that couldnt drive and when the front end came up they kept turning the steering wheel to full lock and when it came back down it made an immedate turn and a rear wheel came way up off the ground. Saw the same guy do it twice in one day....slow learner I guess.

I've seen one tractor where the driver turned the steer trike to 90 degrees while in the air and when it did finally hit the ground, it broke! This is probably the single biggest mistake I see pullers make while pulling. TIP: Put some marks on your steering wheel to designate straight ahead and 45 degrees either direction, then DO NOT go past them. If the tractor is not turning, then you need to use your alternate steering method. You DO have an alternate, don't you?

Don't carry the risk of rollover? Granted most of us have ours balanced pretty well but I have seen ALOT of them stand almost straight up at the end of thier pull and one even go over.Anytime any of us hook, from the most stock to the hottest out there, you run the risk of lifting. That being said,I have seen the fiberglass ones and some aluminumones and I can see where you are coming from with them.Just don't do like one fellow did and stenciled the actual wieght on them,it kinda takes away the secrecy.LOL

i was talking from a out-of-control stand point.
i have never sat down and figured out what my wheel speeed is,i would only want more.
i pull in High 3rd @ 6000 rpm or a tad over.
i have never worried about going over backwards, when i make a set of buck-bars i make sure i can lift the rear off the ground with only 1 side.

G/MAN,

Apparently it doesn't already cost enough to pull where these guys are from. It also makes your tractor look cool when you pull in the light classes.

$5000 for an injector pump
$120 per injector line
$350 per injector
upto $15,000 for a turbo
$3100 for midwest wheels
$2500 rollcage
now $15 per weight is too much????? ?
also,if you would like i can dig through the closet and find my old Hot Rod mag that give step by step directions on how to make a copy out of fiberglass.
not to tough,i made a nosecone for a 666 when i was 14.

That's just throwing fuel on the fire, listing all those prices. You guys are entertaining to watch, but there aren't many people willing to put out that kind of money to pull.

i could have listed a price for a sigma fuel system, which is around $18,000 but that is too rich for my blood and my checkbook too.
if one wanted to take the time and buy used parts and rebuild them i would say around $20,000 to $30,000 and you would be on the track.
i know of antique pullers that spend more than i do by a long shot.
