I was just talking about this to a guy at my local Deere dealer the other day. He is a puller, or used to be. He said that radials won't spin as easily as bias and that when you really get to lugging with the sled, something will break if you don't let out of it or if the tires don't start to slip and spin. This would apply with the boys that have the "warmed over" tractors I guess. Then again, this might not be right at all.

Why do the tire cutting guys like Epperson sware by Bias ply I called three of them and they told me there is no question bias is better. They also everyone that pulls in the midwest have switched back to bias from radials. They also said radials are illegal in many places, why?

Radials have been outlawed for one primary reason on higher speed pullers-safety. They cause more wild rides by bouncing the tractor and the more flexible sidewall blows out easier.

A lot of people here have tried radials and have always ended up taking them off and going back to bias. I'm not sure why the radials don't seem to work as good on the track. In the field though the radial is by far the best choice.
