Anybody ever put a heisler head on a late A. I have a 51' with .125 over bore pistons, M&W style. Any mods or do they just bolt up. How about parts for the head available or hard to get? How about horsepower gains?

They made them in the 60's in Hudson,Iowa. By Harry Heisler. Yes, it bolts right on. They flow better then a stock head. Made three heads for a A. Early A, and two for a late A. Which are the same but with different manifolds. No they do not have plugs in the head. A 60 JD head will also bolt on. What ever you can find for valves that fit, will work. Cat valves work good.
You might want to keep the head kinda stock for your set up. Good Luck!

Do you have Cat part #s for intake & exhaust valves. I assume they will have to be modified for correct length & regrooved for retainers.

I'm sorry I do not. I used that set up a very long time ago. You might want to check with a D8 or D9 Cat. You might want to also check out 80,820,830 JD as well.

Put big valves in it now, have it ported, have manifold ported, this should get you an easy 10 hsp.
