i had 14.9x38"s on my super m in 6500 class.it ran out of power.i put 15.5x38 power tourqes on it. will it have a little more power because of the lower profile 15.5? i was told that it would go faster with 14.9"s and that 15.5"s would slow it down.

DROP A LITTLE TIRE PRESSURE, TO CREATE SOME SLIPPAGE, THE 15.5'S, IF THEY BITE WELL WILL STILL POWER THE MOTOR OUT!

You were told correctly. The 14.9 tire is taller than the 15.5. The 14.9 does have a larger foot print however. The larger footprint comes from the larger diameter. The 15.5 is a bit wider but because it is shorter there is not as many square inches on the ground. The shorter tire will be slower but more torque. The taller tire will be faster and have more area on the ground. If you go the the link and scroll down to the bottom of the page, you will see what different tires give for a footprint. I believe this is from the Firestone ag website but I couldn't get to it just now to send the link.
