Hi guys, I have a question concerning the cam gear on a G. I notice that mine has timing marks on both sides, can this gear be turned around and ran the other way? It looks like it could, but I'm not sure. Also, I think I've seen this mentioned on here before, is there a way to adjust the cam gear to crank gear backlash? Mine seemed to have way to much when I took it apart. Thanks for any input.

The inside marks are for timing to the crankshaft and the outside marks are for timing to the governor. I would run only how it was originally installed, as gear wear patterns don't usually like to 'change' that drastically.

I can't believe I didn't think of that...the timing of the governor/mag completely slipped my mind. Sorry about the wasted post. I inspected the gear a little more closely and decided it wasn't worth reusing anyway - the teeth are badly worn and one of the holes was crossthreaded last time the cam was installed.
