WE HAVE A LOCAL PULLING ASSOCIATION, INTERSTATE FARM PULLERS, THAT HAS A FARM STOCK DIVISION DOES THAT MEAN STOCK OR STOCK APPEARANCE? I AM SURE THAT MANY OTHER CLUBS HAVE SIMILAR RULES

Here in southwest PA they have Farm Stock, stock, pure stock, and Modified stock. Not sure anyone knows the difference! People in the grandstands don't know what's happening & most just leave. I've never seen such a grandstand emptier. There are three 4010's with 4840 blocks & pumps & have to be at least 250 hp; they're called stock and an M that sounds like my 2-cycle lawnmower beats them. The M will spin out in 4th gear with 18.4-38's. Go figure!

The ol 10 will run road gear on any given day. And she's running just over 800 hp. It is farm stock and a hell of a ride when a guy is plowing. Hahaha.

Point being, a disk is not even close to the weight of a transfer sled. Also the RPM is at 4,250, try that with your 4020. All I was trying to do is point out the fact that most farm stock pulling tractors are NOT stock and that was the question. The pulls that I pull at and attend do not have a limit on RPM. The pulls that do limit RPM let you run 10% to 20% over stock or let you run 3,000 RPM. Trust me, if you can pull at the tractor pull in 5th gear, YOUR NOT STOCK!!!!!

Most Farm Stock classes should be written as a conjunction, Far'mstock, where the apostrophe designates the letters "fro" have been left out. (Farfromstock)

In my area the farm stock looks stock and has stock blocks, heads, ect. but are not stock by any means. To give you a couple examples, MM-G6 clocked 15 MPH and 4020 JD pulling in 5th gear. Most tractors around here turning 3,000 to 5,000 RPM. Not sure if this helps you or not, but maybe from this info you can get idea of farm stock classes and what the rules are.

Whats your point? I drove a 4020 stock in the field several hours pulling a 16ft disc in 5th gear. So wouldnt that be stock?

And I can pull a10 ft disk with my stock Oliver 88 in 3rd gear all day with no problems but that sled will make me go to 1st cause I will bog out in 2nd. BIG difference in pulling equipment and a sled. The equipment stays at basically the same resistance while the sled constantly increases.

As for Farm stock and other classes, We have Farm Stock, Super Farm, and Open. Farm Stock is stock appearance, factory unmodified hitch with drawbar if it came that way, No hanging weights in front of the front tires and stock RPM,and must pull in first gear. There are still loopholes in that but it works pretty good. We have alot of shows around here and that gives the guys with show tractors a decent chance to have some fun.

I pull Super Farm which is factory block and heads, pulling hitch, wheelie bars, hanging weights and a larger tire limit. Usually allow 10% on RPM with a 3.5-4 mph speed limit.More loopholes in this one but they are the same for everyone.

Open is usually a 6-8 mph limit, larger tires that can be cut,and a motor from the same manufacturer. Some folks definatly sink some money in these but the crowd likes to watch them.

Shouldn't a stock 4020 pull a 16 ft. disc in 5th? A stock 930 Case will all day long on about 4 1/2 gallons an hour. Besides that, a 16 ft. disc isn't half the load that a pulling sled is. If it is, someone needs a bigger sled!!!!!

Pulling sleds around here weigh 25,000 to 35,000 lbs. I never saw a 16' disk that heavy!

Not even close !!!!! He needs to hook his stock 4020 to the sled. Better have a seat belt on. That sudden fall on it's face might slam him into the steering wheel.
