Which 100% stock off the assembly line tractors have done the best at pulling over the years? Thanks, Glenn F.

A local Fire Dept held a dead weight PERCENTAGE pull once a year for years. The three tractors that could pull well over 100% of their weight were: A fast hitch Super C, a WD-45 , and a 400 with the old Good Year super sure grips, 14.9s. You could count on these three winning their respective classes.

In a pure farm stock class at 3500 lbs a Farmall Super C does quite well. In most pulls we go to we place in the top three. We do quite well in 3500 lb hobby stock (NATPA Div 2) too.

When a good 460 shows up at a pull people wonder what might come in second. For dead weight pulls, bet on the Farmall 460, then the square axle JD A or the right 60, M's are right there and Super 88 olivers. Of course there will never be another tractor made as well balanced and capable as a 1066. My old 400 has come in first it's fair share.

Yeah! Nothing like won of those T/A torque monster 460 or 560's, I'd rather have a M running on three cylinders!

5500# Minneapolis Moline UTU Propane hands down if you are talking right off the assembly line.

Oliver 77,88,Super 77,88 or AC WD 45,and even a 1950,51,52 A John Deere.Theres lots of good ones to choose from but how you set it up and run it down the track makes a difference too.

Out of the box the John Deere 720s and 730s are pretty hard to beat in the heavy classes. Turn a little fuel to them and put on some 18.4 tires and they really do well.

That's a pretty open-ended question, give that there are so many variables. Certain tractors are much more common at pulls than others, so if they're competitive, it stands to reason that they'll win more often.

In my opinion the JD 70, Allis Chalmers WC and WD45, Farmall M or 560, MMGBD or U series,Case 600 or 700 Diesel, Oliver 77 or 88,Ford 861, Ferguson TO35, Cockshutt 40 Diesel, Massey Harris 55, and a few others that beat up on me all the time. I am a Farmall man and I will go up against any of these and maybe win, maybe lose. Migraine

We had a farm 460, what a DOG! Take the fast hitch away and they aren't much!
