John Deere G 9.5 stroke. How can you balance these motors? There are several of these out there, what has worked in the past on these engines.I have taken the rotating assembly 2 different places and we can`t get it to come out right. The machine tells us we need to take weight off of the counterweight on the flywheel and the driver but when we do that and try again it calls for more weight to be taken off.Wehave done this 3 or 4 times on 2 different balancing machines with no luck yet what are we doing wrong. Any help is appreciated Thank`s

bobweights are absolutely needed, however using the correct percentage of recip is critical. too much will make the engine shake up and down not enough will make it shake fore and aft. call rod at 515 432 4455. he has the formula if you give him enough details. and he could also balance it for you.

Hey 720, Give Engelke Machine in Lester Prairie MN a call. He is right next door to Berry Cams, (Scott Berry's brother-in-law in fact) They balance an A crank and a G crank for me. Both strokers. I took complete engine there. Flywheel, driver, pistons and rods. Cost me 400.00 but it runs ever so smooth! 320-395-2982. Hope this is of some use to you.

Are you using any kind of bobweights when you spin the thing? Usually you dont need bobweights when the throws oppose eachother, but an externally balanced JD may not work that way. It may need bobweights to counteract the flywheel/clutch driver. I may be balancing an A crank soon and will find out.

One thing you may try, and it may or may not help is to spin just the crank all by itself and correct it neutral and then put the flywheel and clutch driver on and spin it again.
