I have a 560 diesel with T/A running 16.9x38 tires on pressed steel rims. I was wondering what is the heaviest class I can run in 3rd gear and the heaveiest I can run in 2nd? T/A shifting allowed with a 2500RPM limit.

IF your tractor has the heavy tillage gears(slow third) it mite work.

I doubt you'll be able to pull 3rd at all. My gas 560 is probably 120-150 hp open rpm and I pull best in 2nd, 7+ mph with 18.4x38s. I pull 6000 and 7000. I tried pulling in 3rd, twice last summer in a hot farm class, and had to pull the ta and still finished last. I was however pulling against 2 tractor that out weighed me by alot and turboed.

If you can't pull in third gear making 120 hp, you have got a problem. I pull my stock 560 deisel in third gear, and I'm 65hp tops.

Are you talking third direct or with the TA pulled back. I have 2 gas and one diesel and usually have to pull in 2nd Ta or even down in 1 direct. THis is from 6000 to 9000 pounds. Running about 2400 rpms most of the time. Migraine
