1206SWMO Thanks for the reply, STANLEY STEAMER, that shook the cobwebs because that was the name of Stans that I thought of first.
You are right too about tractor power coming out of that neck of the state at that time. Do you remmber the John deere that had the allison engine with 2 chrome stacks coming up just ahead of the rear fenders, looked so good as if the factory had done the work? Seen it in Greeley couple times, one sharp looking tractor, then it disappeared. Then there was Black Magic too, the chopper engine powered one.
Are you still pulling? If so Do you pull at any of the Platte Valley Pulls?
Sounds like you know Gregg very well, tell him I said hello. He's a great hard working guy, like his sled, but really feel for him handleing all those weights all the time, his arms are going to be down to his feet, just hope he don't have to pay for it down the road as age sets in.
Thanks for the post and bringing back some good old memmories.
Bob Jones

Bob,that V-12 Allison JD you are talking about was Gary Porter out Hugoton,Kansas with AG Air,Inc.I live 100 miles south of Kansas City,MO and have never met Greg Lussetto in person. We both post at the RED POWER magazine forum and email each other some.I have seen his Mom Linda pull once at Gibbon,NE.They seem like very nice people.

Black Magic was Lee Roth out of Sterling,CO.Do you remember Gary Sporhase from Holyoke,CO with The Sting? How about Carl Schneller from Holyoke with Beautiful Noise?Do you remember Leon Atkins from Haxtun,CO with the stout G-1000 MM alky burner?I used to see alot of these pullers at the Kansas State Fair every year plus the winter indoor pull at KC.I havent pulled since 1986.Check out my photo album. Here are some pictures of my old 856 IH puller.I have been invoved with tractor pulling since 1964 and am 52 years old.
