I percentage pull an M and have recently aquired a complete 400 motor that trashed the crank. Is it worth my time to swap some parts over or just save my money and do the 400 motor later?

Tell Andy he NEEDS it. His ZB is basically a rear end...we had to return the worthless junk front end to the salvage yard as part of the deal. Poor old girl. What's going on in your neck of the woods?

Winter stuff,,, More insulation in the shop, antifreeze in the engines, putting stuff away till spring. Been working on a 69 Maverick for the past few months. Nice ol car,,, Its getting the V8 treatment, face lift. Other than what I mentioned, and the honey do list,,, not a whole lot,,,, Andy knows I got that ZAU,, But from what I understand, he is going in the right direction,,, start with a part, and build on to it as he goes. Thats How I built My H,,, of course, its apart again,,, so The parts hunt continues,,, I have been watching alot of Dukes of Hazzard lately,,, driving the wife crazy with the dixie horn from the ol General HAHAHAHA!!! Oh,, There is a guy from Illinois that has alot of Molines that he buys sells and trades,, I cant remember what the name is,, but was out his way a few years back,, parts everywhere! Chad

Oh ok. I have M-M connections all over. Sometimes I loose track. Greg Heriott builds MMs over in Ill somewhere. Nice fella. I watched Gary run his M at Wauseon...WOW. Adam Coleman was not too shabby either in his "half baked" M.

Depends on how far you want to tear the M engine down. Everything will interchange, except the sleeve and pistons,,, the M block is a smaller casted block in the cyls, VS the newer style blocks. But, the head, cam, rods will swap out, use the M rod bearings with the 400 rods, If you pull the engine out of the frame, if you have the clutch and flywheel from the 400, you can use that in the M, just use a SM clutch disk to keep the M input shaft spline. That gives you a larger clutch, and a heavier flywheel. You can put the M crank in the 400 block, use the M bearings and rear main seal from the M, the 400 seal is bigger in diameter,,, You can put the 4-1/8th bore pistons in the M, run no sleeves, and buy a set of those rings that fill in the sleeve flange gap. Or, run with out the flange rings, use a 450 head gasket. the 450 gasket will seal it up. If you got a good M short block, Id swap out the cam and head, flywheel and clutch, if you have it and feel ambitious,, You would pick up some good torque with that set up from the M engine. Hope this helps, Chad
