Do it yourself, and save $$$!!! All the work is done to the carb bowl. Remove the carb bowl, remove the main load adjustment screw, and the metering stem. Then, go to the hardware store, and find the drill bits,,, you are looking for what is called numbered drill bits, find the drill bit that fits your main jet tightly, then purchase bits that are 5 and 7 sizes larger in number, for example,,, if the stock jet uses a #60 drill bit you would buy a 65 and a 67 number bit. Now, with the smaller bit,, you will drill the main jet, be careful dont go too deep, or you will hit the casting of the carb, it may break the bit, or drill thru the casting,,, once you have drilled the main jet, you need to take the same bit, and drill the bottom 2 holes of the metering stem. Blow outthe shavings and reassemble the way you took it apart. Now, lets get a little more technical,,, if you have high compression, first, you need to know how much pressure you have in the cyl,,, this will determine venturi size, if it is 125psi and under use a 25, which is a stock M,,, if it is above 125, and no higher than 150, find a #27, which is found in the Super M,,,, if it is above 150, and no higher than 175, find a #33 which is found in the 560, 706, or a IH combine using a C-263 gas 6 cyl. If the compression is high, and you redrillthe jet sizes, the bigger venturi may require you to go bigger on the main jet size, this is where your big drill bit is used, drillthe main jet with the 7 sizes larger bit, and reassemble it, try it, if you can back the main load adjustment screw out and make it run rich, then your ok on the jet size, if not, then take that bit you just used, and drill out the bottom 2 holes of the metering stem again using the big bit. If you have a good running carb already, this will help you gain a few HP, but if it junk, then look into a total rebuild kit, but with this method, all you need is the bowl gasket. maybe the metering stem seals,,, if they are bad,, but usually you can save them. any questions, email me.
