Ok, went back and read some posts on this combination and about the C-153 block. Happened upon a power unit. Now, the work has to begin to build a little powerhouse C or Super C Farmall for the light classes. So, what rear tire has been used on these? Kinda trying to figure out my options. This project is just starting, but man I am getting excited at the possibilities that could unfold here.

I have a 153 in a C and BN Farmall, Are you going to leave it stock? all I did was cut .125 off the head , I have 12.4-36 on it but I would like to have press wheels with 13.6 or 15.5-38's

You have to fit a pilot bearing in the flywheel and machine the clutch shaft back, cut the fan blades, use a lower water pipe from a 340, redo the upper from the 153, I used the manifold from the 153, had to weld a exhaust pipe in the manifold. You can use the BN manifold but the 153's manifold is alot better. and on the side of the 153 where the starter was, remove the dowel pin and tap the hole in the bell housing. the reason for this is the 153 doesnt have a bolt there because the starter was there, this way you can use a bolt.

Do you think .125 can be taken off a regular B or C head? I have one that Iam playing with and was thinking about cutting it down some but I didn't know how far I could go. Thanks Shaggy

Im not sure about the C head, A good machine shop would be able to tell you how much to cut off

How much does your C weigh? I am planning on taking pretty much everything off it. 38's with pressed steel is the plan. I may run 34's though. What gear do you run? Just trying to get ideas of what other people are running. I figure this could be a pretty good combination being that the motor should have about 40-45 horses right off the bat. Few modifications and could be at 50 hp. I figure it will be a fun project. Maybe put a light wide front on it.

I removed the hydraulic rock shafts and pto on my C , I cant remember what it weighed its been a few years now since I pulled it ,I think it was around 3000# with the cast wheels, I ran 3rd gear in the 3500 and tried 3rd in the 4000 it ran out of power in the 4000 need to run 2nd, it was a sandy track that was the only time I pulled it. the 153 is the same as the 504 Farmall 46hp, but dont expect to see 46hp in the C pto, the 504 runs 2200 rpm's at 540 pto and the C runs 1650 at 540 pto
