With no sleeves in the H block, bore is 3-9/16. Some kits offered in the Super H have a 3-9/16 bore, or early 300 with the 169ci. You would not have to bore it out, OR, you bore it out to have the 350 sleeves put in, then you get a 3-5/8 bore. You would bore the Block, and have to cut the 350 sleeve flange cut down to the H sleeve flange diameter. Thats a 175ci, add a 350 cam, and use a good late model cyl head, with a bit of work, you can have a good stout low gear puller. up to 4500 with 14.9s. But usually, its just as easy to find a late model block, a C-169 thru 175 block, recondtion that style block, and you might save a little more by not boring out a H block,,, Miles, what kind of pulling do you do these days with that ol H? You could bore the H block run it sleeveless, use a 350 head gasket,, or have the 350 sleeves fitted to the H block, which means boring the H block a bit more and cutting the sleeve flange down smaller on the 350 sleeve. Machining costs are the clincher,, depends on what you wanna spend,, the sleeve less block would be fine, and cheaper, but putting in the sleeves gives you the option to rebuild, without having to bore the block, just replace the sleeves and go! To me, thats the best route, but I would not mind either way. You need a good 55-60 hp to run a 4500lbs low gear class and possibly never run out of power, a tricked out C-175 can get close to 55, but a small stroker H engine would be better. email me directly if you wish, CHad

If i built a stroker H how much would that cost. Also if I put 350 pistons in it what would be my h.p and compression. Also what kind of head work can i do.

Thanx Miles

Miles, send me an email, and Ill price it out for you. If you just went with a 350 kit, your looking at roughly 43-48 hp depending on your head and cam. Estimated cyl PSI is 170 with a shaved head. Now that is a stock set up, nothing fancy,,, you have a few more options we have to look at,,, I can explain that in the email, on strokers, well, that depeneds on how much you wanna spend, and what you want this H to do,,, do you want to shake the tree, or rip it from the ground? Describe for me what kind of class your wanting to run,, some rules,,, hitches, tire sizes,, any rules on replacement parts, any gear, or low gear only and weight. Let me know, Ill see what I got hidin,, CHad

From what I understand, your going to have the block bored out to 3-5/8 and run sleeveless. Which is ok,, but if you intended on running sleeves, you need to have your H block bored to the 350 sleeve barrel diameter, then you will have to have the 350 sleeve flange, cut back to the H flange specs. This way, your not overboring the top of the block deck by trying to fit the larger 350 OEM sleeve flange in a smaller casted H block. Talk to your machinist,, see if he can cut the sleeve flange down, or knows someone who could,, let me know ASAP what your intentions are,, sleeves, or no sleeves, either way, they come with the kit! I think he set you up to not use them, which you can go either way,, but if I was doing it, Id put in the sleeves,,, JMHO,, Chad
