Has anbody ever put a 520 cam in a late JD B?If so
what should i degree it to?Did it make a noticeable difference?

Don"t waste your time. You can get a cam custom ground and installed for next to nothing at the Dumb Ranch. If you need the # I think I can get it for you.

Send your B cam to Roberts Carb instead of chancing a worn out 520/530 cam instead. The lift and duration is the same on the later B's and the 50/520/530, so no gain.

I doubt that it will fit..the distributor on the 520 is driven by a gear on the cam... The 520 got the increased power from a complete re-design of the head and pistons...they Breath much better.. The "B" can be helped a lot by a special racing type of valve job..and MORE cubic inches helps a bunch, too.. Mine is +.180 with a lot more compression and it has every bit as much power as my 520..and it has not had any valve work done... A friend has a Late Styled "B" with a +90 Power Block and he pulls a 3-14" pull type plow in third gear real well...
