I was looking at the pictures of Tunica and noticed a sharp looking 720D on pg 4 picture 4228.
Does the person that owns it post on this board? If so I have a few questions.
Thanks

Same tractor in 4334 a few pages later. Looks to be converted to electric start, pressed wheels and very few weights. He pulls pretty light, maybe 7500 lbs? Looks like pretty good smoke, but I've seen more if you know what I mean!

I'm thinking of getting mine down to 7500. What do you mean about seeing more some?? Those magical pumps release all the smoke Gpower put into them.

I was referring to your pictures showing a little more smoke than the tractor in the Tunica pictures. I've been thinking about doing some light pulling this year myself. We may be experiencing some rule changes at one of the tracks that will allow me a wider range of weights to pull in. I know I can't make 7500 with the pony motor and weight racks, but you should be real close with the electric start.

It might be fun to make some lightweight 3rd gear pulls!

Thinking I can get to 7500 with pressed steels and non Roll-o-matic. Yes, the loss of a pony motor will help also, may not have a lot of room for movable weight but we'll see.
I don't think 3rd gear would be an option, maybe on a garvel road! It's always fun to dream.

When I first got my 720 it had 15.5s and about 30 gallons of CaCl between the two of them. The very first time we pulled it we got down to 7500 with 1/2 tank of fuel and everything else basically as it should be. That was with 7650 max allowance and my brother on the seat. With nothing really changing, the next spring it weighed more like 7710 on the same scale. No pony and pressed wheels should net you just a little movable weight.

I am not the owner, I'm the builder, what is it you would like to know.

How much motor does it have? I am getting ready to start pulling a 720 D in the 7500-8500#classes. Marlin done the pumps, didn't help much if any, but usually pulls 8500# in 2nd gear with 18.4x38 tires. But a good track will kill the motor. I like to hear how other people are getting the power out of them.
