It seems that NATPA is up to its old favorites trick again! For some reason the tech. officials decided to check the over all length of some tractors. After inpection Brooks was found to be 1 inch to long. They slapped his hand and told him to correct it by the next pull. To me, if you are illegal you should be D.Q., right. Is Brooks untouchable? I can't wait till Tilley finds out! Sounds to me like NATPA owes Tilley an explanation or maybe even a WIN!

NATPA RULES: Weights must not extend rearward beyond rear tires and cannot be more than 11 feet from the center of the rear axle to the furthest point forward.

So, the legal length from mid-axle to the end of the weights is 132 inches (12" x 11') and Brooks was 133 inches. If you do the math that's a difference of .0076. And he should be DQ'ed for that? Sorry, I think a warning and a fix it or else is entirely appropriate. The advantage gained by this miniscule measurement is negligible. If that's the only way you can figure to beat him you've got a long summer ahead.

and if his rpms are slightly over, yes, honest mistake, slap his wrist and scold him-I'm sure he won't let it happen again! You'd make someone a nice mother!

Quit whining and find a way win rather than disqualifying all of your competition.

I was there and also saw a well-known super H who has an illegal wheelie bar set-up and was allowed to pull. He too was also told to have it right by the next pull instead of being disqualified.

BBeen down that road, seen that happen many times, that's why I pull local fairs etc only,Let the big boys pay for their own intertainment Just as much fun to grunt down the track with an old stock "G" orWC ALLIS with my friends and hit the "cooler" at the end of the day and talk to the old boys about way back when and "next year I'll get him" or"we'll be at so and so next week ,put some decaff in the tank then I'll get him".

Ya know, I think NATPA has a list of who it wants to win. At the top is Brooks then Bear and so on. I bet if old Tilley had'nt of made Brooks look so bad they probably would'nt have dq him. I guess Tilley has'nt got on the "A" list with the "Chairman Of The Board"!

Guys, It seems to me that the only guys to get DQ'd at NATPA pulls is the nobodys.I'm currently in the TOP 10 in 2 classes, and just the other day I got reservations for the Columbia Pull,But if this is the way our NATPA leaders want to treat the nobobys(when you count us we pay the bills)this way,I think(I KNOW) my SM will stay right here in INDIANA and so will my $$$$$$$$$.I will not be PAYING to let the CHEATERS CHEAT.If we (the nobodys) don't go to Columbia then we'll see who pays the bills,Just my 2cents worth

You guys are catchin on slow but I see it happening. Ever watch NASCAR, every week one of the good ol boys gets caught and slapped on the wrist but still get the win and the money. It seems to be human nature to be competative and go to all means to win even if it means bending or stretching the rules. Now all you "my tractor is stock" boys can jump out of your chairs in indignation but there are pratically I mean almost no stock tractors anywhere. You all get mad cause my tractor is more not stock than yours. Just remember stock means from the factory, not 104 gas or a K+N air cleaner or the tractor supply rebore kit or a set of 14.9's instead of 13.6's..... or an M5 manifold instead of a U manifold or a 450 LP insted of an M head. Just like cheatin on your wife, even just a little is gonna get you in deep dodo. aRt

Where I pull we have our own "stock" rules,Stock is ,each wt. class has it's tire size limit,If you run a "G" JD anything that has been marketed for the "G" JD for farm use is legal. Can't put "A" parts in "B" ETC. But then who knows????? Same for other brands. If you dont run it in the field you dont' run it on the track.
