I have a 47 MD that I pull with. 100% overhaul about 150 hours ago. Will not lose in a complete stock pull. 5,000 lb to 8,000lb classes (sometimes higher up to 18,000 in some cases) My rebuild is completely STOCK Cant compete with John Deeres with "5 gallon pails for pistons" or Olivers that turn 4,000 RPM plus. I pull in NE WI and NATPA rules don't apply. wish they did make it a bit more even.

thanks for reply, know the feling about competing with the 5 gallon pails and the crazy RPM's but I still love to pi$$ off the Deere boys just by showing up! I would just love to get a 400 or 450 diesel and give it more fuel somehow and pull against them and I got the ta and the deere boys dont!

We pulled MD with 281, it did pretty good against STOCK tractors. They just don't have enough HP to pull with stepped up tractors. Pulled good in 6000 and 6500. Our WD-9 pulls real good in 2nd gear in 7000, 8000 if you can get it to stick to the track.

thanks for the reply, I would really like to get a 400 or 450 Diesel and give a little more fuel some how and pull 6500-7500lbs classes I know a gas would be better to work with but working on a Super M-TA gas for pulling and we have a love for the old gas start Diesels around here we got a 650D,WD9, SuperMD, 450D
