I have a MM U that I am only getting 54 hp out of on the dyno. The engine is stock have 10a4207 heads on it 160 lbs of compression LP mainfolds with stock MS TSX 67 carb running 110 octane 76 race fuel with 12 volt ignition. Leaving the bore and stroke stock.

I was thinking about Advancing the cam one tooth, adding Motec's Electronic ignition, and having the governor rebuilt by them, possibly maybe changing the cam. Are any of these good ideas or what should I do for cheap hp.

highr compression ratio lets you burn higer octaine fuel.BUT you must change the dist. timing to get any good out of it. dumping in higher octaine fuel alone don't do it . Right or wrong????

The head chart says you should have 190 to 215 lbs. compression.Your comp. sounds low squrit som oil in the clys and see if you get a increase.sounds like you are low. At 160 lbs you should be able to run a lower octane gas this should help some. Carb work would help too. Dave

Motec reworked the carb and governor for my U, and it made a world of difference. He also recurved my distributor, and that was noticable from the seat as well.

Only good things to say about Motec.

Motec did the same for me, good stuff. If you are leavin the bore and stroke alone then do all you can to enhance the heads and the air flow through the manifold. aRt
