Has anyone pulled with a Ford 741? If so what weight class are you pulling? I am restoring one now and hoping to pull in the 3000# class.
Any suggestions on how to get the most HP out of this engine??

I pull with Ford 900 4000# and 5000# classes now and finish in the top 3 just wondering how the 700 will do. Different transmission (4spd) and with the smaller block engine

The 600 and 700 series tractors are the same. The only difference is the 600 is a wide front and the 700 series is the narrow front. Plane the head down and put in bigger valves. Port the intake and head along with some bigger jetting on the carb. This will get you started untill you can bore it out to gain some cubes. Check the results from Wausen oh. in Nov. on the NATPA site and you'll see all the Fords did well in their classes.
