Case VAC stroker crank head

Has anybody stroked a VAC crank? Either an offset grind or a weldup and grind?

How much where you able to increase stroke without running into clearance issues with the cylinder sleeve or case or etc...?

Did you have to use shorter connecting rods? Did you have to mill down the piston top?

Has anyone put larger valves in the head? I"ve heard some chevy"s work well. What valve? What springs and retainers work?

Not looking to get too wild, but any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hank

i have a vac puller with 148 engine in it.i had the block machined to fit the 159 sleeves and use 159 pistons.basically you would need to stroke the crank .375".also run camshaft out of 159 much better.milled .200 off of cylinder head.all of these parts will go into vac block. this tractor is very strong and ibeat ford 800 tractors with it consistantly.will even commpete with allis wd with slight engine build up

The old 148 engine will bolt right in from what I have been told. Not the new 148CID. I have also been told that the 159 crank, pistons, head, etc. will go in a 148 block with a little work. From the outside, I can see no difference between the 148 and the stock 124. I own two VAC's, but they just don't have the cubic inch potential to be great pullers when compared to other tractors. There is no replacement for displacement. Now, the VC's came with the continental engine. There might be some potential there as well.....
If you are dead set determined and want to spend the money to make it look stock, let me know. I do know of a guy that has the 148 with all the 159 parts in it.

Well I don't have a 660 combine laying around for parts. I also havn't found a 201 laying around for sale anywhere. I would also like to keep the original block.

I've seen pictures of the VA that CASEPOWER built with this motor. Slick setup. Not what I'm wanting to do though.
