I pull an Allis "WD45" and I'm gonna put some new skins on it. Firestone are the cheapest and most available but will they be my while. My old set were Armstrong but they tell me that Titan only makes long bar short bar. Any input would be helpful.

Thanks for everybodys opinion, but I've been lookin for quite some time for a good used set of 14.9's but they're hard to come in good shape. But I was planning on maybe spinning the new ones backwards on pavement or I was told running low air pressure down the road with weight on will help wear. What do you guys think?

If your going to pull don't buy new. They are much too soft and way too much lug. If you can, stick with the Armstrongs as they are larger for thier size. Goodluck

Armstrongs might be larger with the smaller sizes, but on larger tires like 18.4x38's armsrtongs are slightly shorter. even though Firstone F/R's have a good inch in hight advantage, on 18.4 x38's the older Armstrongs have an extra bar per side to dig in, which makes a difference of nearly 1/2 inch less space, between each bar as you go around the tire. Sorry for the interuption, just thought I'd throw out some useless information. Later, Greg H.

I have only used the 14.9-38's and smaller and I know that they are about a half size larger. Good to know about the larger ones though. Thanks

My dad is using a old set of weathered wards riverside tires with about half tread. They are very, very hard. Now talk about taking power to turn!
