The compression will get a little higher when it breaks in. Next time you have it warmed up, get your torque wrench out, and retorque the head, and the manifold. Then reset your valve lash. Tell Miles to listen up, because he needs to do the same on his H,,, If you have not retorqued the head yet, youll find when you do,, there will be a few loose nuts. over time,, this will create a leak or blow the gasket. So just go back, and double check everything. When you fire it back up, you may notice that the engine will run different than before,, you may have problems,,, your timing will need to be reset, and the carb jet size may need to increase. These manifolds loosen up in the fisrt hour of running, and will leak air,,, if you tuned it before you retorqued everything,, then you will need to retune it, So first, retorque the head and manifold, reset the valve lash. Do this when the engine is warm. run it for a while, see if the way it runs, changes,, and if it does, check the carb settings, and the timing. You need to figure out a way to work the engine for a while, maybe drive it, or dyno, anything to put a load on that engine. This will help it break in. Now if you dont work the engine,, you may have no way to do it,, so you need to put at least 10 hours of running time on it, at different rpm ranges. By the time you have ran it for that long, you will start to pick up on how to make the engine run better as time goes on. AND, the engine is broken in. Give me a call this evening,,, or shoot me a email. ChadS
