I hate to be the bearer of bad news. I would not run this again until I checked to make sure #1 Main bearing is not installed with hole to bottom or upside down.

The crank has not pulled out of the motor in the last 4 years. I was getting oil to it and I recently put in new rings and head gaskets. This is when I started having trouble. Any more ideas? please help

Hey talk about being upsidedown backwards, and brainlocked. I was thinking about this at supper and there is no way a main bearing would cause this. I am wondering if you have any oil at the timing gear feed line?
The camshaft is drilled in the middle almost to the back of number one cam bearing. The front part is threaded for the bolt that holds the cam gear on. About one third back on the bearing there is a cross drilling all the way through the bearing, this drilling provides oil for the timing gear line and also pressures up the bolt hole. A third of the way foward of the back of the front bearing there is a slot and driling to the middle of the bearing into the bolt hole. This lets pressure from bolt hole go to rocker arms. If for some reason a plug was put in this hole before the bolt it could work back and plug the rocker hole or both the rocker and cross drilling.
I hope this is not to confussing.
Ken

LOL! It is actually very confusing! I silicone gasketed the base gaskets when I put the motor back together, is there any way some silicone could have gotten in to this?

If you had the rocker supply tube and its 1/4x1/8 bushing out of crankcase then put down ackkie puckkie then gasket and block, then screwed pipe and bushing in from top, you may have ackkie puckkie in the hole.

Here is a stab in the dark. I have a custom frontend that is low. Is it possible that the oil is running to the front of the oil pan and not getting enough to the pickup on the pump. I was running 16.9-38 and went to a 18.4-38 and it is possible that I have not been getting oil for a while. The reason I found out that I was not getting oil was I cleaned up everything when I recently put new rings in the motor. I heard squeaking after this assembly. I think the oil that was already on the assembly was what was keeping it from squeaking. Does this make any sense to you?
