Can't seem to find two books that agree on a weight. Anyone with a Late A (6 speed) with cast rear centers ever weigh it on accurate scales?

Thanks,

With pressed steel and flat back, they will weigh under 4500 lbs.

Without an operator, wheelie bars, weight brackets and a half a tank of gas you should be around 5,250 lbs.

Thanks,

I was thinking it should make a 5500 class with the cast centers and lift. A flat back would be nice. Rear castings are heavier than I thought. Didn't figure it would be possible to get to 4500 without some serious parts throwing away.

My late A with pressed steel rears and powr-trol/rockshaft intact with me on it and 5 gallons of fuel weighs 4520.

My operator's manual for my 1951 shows a shipping weight of 4,984...that's with no fluids and I presume probably no roll-a-matic and no powertrol. Johnnypopper.com shows a weight of 3,525 for unstyled, 3,783 for the years 1938-47 and 4,909 for the years 1947-52. And of course there's always the variance of individual scales, are they located in the sun or shade etc.
