I'm working on a 265 Chrysler flat head. Sometime well into the past it was bored out to .080 over. It is well worn. I would like to bore it more to clean it up. I am going to have to go to at least .090 to do this. I was curious as to how far I can safely. Also, I can only find new pistons to .060 over. Does anyone know of a cheap set of pistons that would work in it if I had it bored for them to fit? Any help would be great.

Best to get a new block. at .060 they are very very thin, the material inbetween the cyls are almost gone if you go much over .060. Those blocks are cheap,, look for an old oliver 525 combine, they have a 251, but its the same block. I think my brother in law has 3 blocks still sitting,, he may sell one,, If you find a stock bore block, just go .030 over or less, then it will be easier to bore the next time. ChadS
