Wow, a fabulous place to pull. Great competition. Lots of activities for the entire family. This is one event that will see alot of growth in the coming years.
Everyone truly enjoyed watching the 1st class of the day with the Society Hill Grandma's "I feel a need for speed" SMTA outpull 6-7 men in the 7000 stock class. Even the ole Bulldog got a 1st and 2nd place -- I guess the cold weather hasn't affected the ole 'dog' after all.
Another great place to pull will be April 7-9 just outside St. Matthews, SC. Ya'll NC & GA pullers need to check this one out.

Is the pull easy to find outside of St. Mathews? We will be coming in from Columbia and don't want to miss it.

Aiken is a great place to have a pull down in the valley like that. Didn't make it this year but was there last year. I hope they lightened up their sled for the light classes. :-)

I-26 EAST to exit 136 (Hwy 6.) At the end of the exit, turn left and go back over the Interstate. Go 3-4 miles and take a left at the first stop sign (Hwy 176). Go about 5 miles on Hwy 176 (past water tower on the right). There will be signs to turn right.

Go about 200 yards and turn right again at stop sign. You will then turn go about 100 yards and turn right into their place.

Might not be a bad idea to email speedy@oldsouth.com for more information. I beieve they start at Noon on Saturday - Friday night is a play pull. Sunday's pull starts about 1:00pm.

There are camping facilities available, along with various vendors on site.

Hope this helps.

Can't say for sure about the sled in Aiken being any lighter for the light classes. The lighter classes seemed to do fairly well in their distances. At least they were very competitive distances.

The primer red Farmall M with the 1/2 orange hood and 1/2 rainbow'd hood. I pulled in 5000 and 5500 and the old man pulled the 'ole dog in 6000 and 6500. The "Grandma" and her SMTA and I were the only ladies pulling that day. I'd have to say the "Grandma" was the celebrity of the day in 7500 stock (not 7000 like I said earlier)
What were you pulling?

Hey Bulldog. Always enjoyed seeing you pull with SATPA. Will you be pulling with them this year?
