730 Pistons in 630

Has anyone considered putting 730 Gas pistons in a 630 Gas. The stroke on both are 6 3/8. The 730 has a 1/2 inch larger bore, so I would have to have the 630 block sleeved for this. Does anyone have any comments on doing this or maybe other options.

Not interested in stroking my 630 crank and grinding out the case, dealing with cam clearance etc at this time.

Serious comments greatly appreciated.

I am looking for a set of oversize 730 gas pistons to do just this but in a late A. I have been told of stroker motors running this set up but you need to run a powerblock. I have already run into the standard block cracking even when it is bored .250 over between the spakplug hole and where the head bolt bottoms out. Sleeving in my area runs between 400 to 800 for a 2 cylinder block, so it is not a cheap option.

MY experience has been when we bore the blocks that amount.THe block's want to crack when you torque the head down. Sleeving the block takes more meat out yet. I would suggest boring the block .187.5 --3/16 oversize and have the piston's made. Also you need to raise the compression ratio.

It would be cheaper to stroke the crank 1/2 than it would be to bore it a 1/2.. and the pulling power would be much greater by stroking it. We have been looking into this, the HP gain by just resleeving the block to the 730 pistons, was going to be very minimal for the cost..

Wrist pins are much larger in Diameter in the 730....you would have to sleeve them down....
