To all honest pullers and tractor collectors---. Beware of the 880 oliver puller listed in the photo adds. The seller has only owned the tractor for about 10 days and is misrepresenting the cubes, valves, carb and HP. In my correspondence with the present owner, he was less that truthfull with me about numerous issues with this tractor. This is a STOCK 880 motor and head with 265 ci according to the guy who built it and owned it for more than 5 years. It sold on ebay auction #7602010408 for 4350 with a load of weights. Check it out on ebay. If you need more info feel free to contact me and I can put you in touch with the original owner so that you can get the truth about this good looking 880.

I am the owner of this 880 who is selling it now and want to clear some of this up. First off, I was indeed wrong about the cubes of the tractor. My Oliver books says that 880s came out with 3 1/2 bore which I have since been informed is not true. I have changed my ad to be correct now. The tractor is stock bore. Also, the carb. is a stock carb which I have taken apart and bored the jets on. Which makes it "bigger" on the fuel side. Next, I put the tractor on the dyno and got 70HP. It is to my knowledge that these are 62 from the factory which can easily be bumped when the RPM's are upped to 20% over. Finally, YES, I did buy it off of Ebay for $4350 with suitcase weights and I am now wanting to sell it for $4200 without the suitcase weights. This was one of the main reasons I bought the tractor was for all the weights. My original intentions were to pull it but I already have a great pulling 77 and don't need another one to take up all the money and shed space. So lets lay it out here, I have a stock 880 with small modifications (aftermarket K&N filter, bored carb. jets, electronic ignition, 20% over RPMs, weight brackets, wheelie bars, and kill switch), I am losing $150 on the deal plus my fuel (another $150) to go get it. But it is a good deal for me because I am keeping the suitcase weights. I have pulled this tractor one time in the 5000 lbs class and it spun the tires in second gear. The previous owner told me he pulled it from the 4500lbs class up to the 6500lbs class. When I bought it the governor was not working correctly and the carb. was not right. I readjusted the governor and got it working and also rebuilt the carb to make it run right. I hope this clears it up for Curt and anybody else who may have questioned my ad. I am admiting I was wrong, but I have since learned more about the tractor and that my Oliver book is wrong. But when it comes right down to it, this is a good strong honest tractor that I bought 2 weeks ago and am now selling. This is not illegal by any means and I am not trying to make millions or screw somebody over. This has gotten a little blown out of proportion.

Tony - This isn't the first time you've posted a For Sale ad on YT and been less than honest.

Remember the "NATPA legal" Massey 101jr that you bought from Bob Bernard?

His ads are always comical--every tractor is show quality paint, all gears work like they should, a real head turner, etc hahahaha

Looking at the pictures on Ebay, the drawbar is an accident waiting to happen. Putting the top of the adjuster that far above the center of the rear axle; or for that matter, any above the center of the rear axle, is a death wish. I helped flip a M Farmall off the top of a guy that had a very simular drawbar setup. The bottom part broke and it flipped over backwards before he could even think of clutching it.

I hope no one here EVER has to witness something like that.

stock mounting location on the the drawbar supports is near the top of the axle housing,The way that one is set is only slightly higher, I have a similar set up on my 77 and it has never caused any problems, wheelie bars would eliminate any doubt, any tractor that pulls should have wheelie bars anyway, cheap safety insurance.
