Anyone Use Denny's Axle Plates?

Hey guys,

After talking with a seasoned puller tonight about the catostrophic failure of cast iron hubs, I have decided to ditch that idea for weld on plates. I am just wondering if any of you guys can give positive or negative feedback on the hubs that Denny's Carb shop sells. I know that I can get a local machine shop to build some, but it will cost as much or more than the ones from Denny's. I just wanted to make sure there are no problems with them that anyone has had.

Thanks,

Chris

I called Denny's about the new distibutors he has listed for farmall and the woman said they didn't sell new ones . Does any one know where I can get a new distributor set up for pulling . This would be for a Farmall 450 .Thanks

Thanks. I just contacted Dave last night from the number on a previous post. He is making me a set and shipping them out. He was great to deal with.

Do you happen to have a number? I have been told I need to talk to him about a girdle. I actually already talked to Dave just earlier and got a set ordered. After talking to him I am very glad I called him. Sounds like he builds them right, and he provides gussets and bolts as well. After all I have heard about Denny's it seems he has screwed a few people over, and I dont care to deal with him. I also found out his plates are only 1/2 inch and none threaded holes. Daves are 3/4" with machined lip for the wheel and threaded holes.

I just bought a pair of weld on 9 bolt plates from Dave (can't remember the last name) 608-762-5517. Just tell him the size axel, what kind of tractor. I think that he is located in Wisconson. By the time I got them shipped, bolts, gussets it was $180. Give him a try, ALOT nicer to deal with than Denny's.

I bought some stuff from Denny's that was not right. They told me to either send it back at my cost both ways, which means I'd pay for shipping three times, or to take it to a machine shop and have it corrected. Read my post above.

I will give them a chance, but in the end my pocket book will recieve the most support. Custom machine work can get rediculous and they will not give a hard quote before the work. They want to be able to go up if they dont bid it properly....which I dont care for.

Don't know about their axle plates, but I've heard that his wife--or whoever it is that answers the phone--makes it worth the call...especially if you ask about returns, exchanges, or warranty.
