Depends on the tractor and what has been done to it. In the lighter classes it will be close with a WD and a H, stock for stock. A WD-45 is a little bear, but hard to get to hook up. Powerwise it will run with a M or SM, but will be very eager to spin out with those little tires. Bigger (taller) tires mess up the gearing and shifts it over to running out of power, makes it like pulling in 2nd or 3rd gear.

I tend to disagree with Joe"s assertion that powerwise a WD45 will pull with a M or Super M. I"ve never seen a WD45 pull 7500 lb farm stock before, let alone place in such a heavy class. My Super M won the 7500 class on its last outing. First time it had been pulled that heavy itself. I usually pull it in 6500, where I have seen a few WD45s try it out, but they have never done any good, . . . yet.

BTW The short tires are not a disadvantage as they improve the low end grunt power exponentially.

Like the other fellow said though, any given tractor on any given day . . .

Sorry Joe, I read the "in reply to" part in the message to incorrectly get your name instead of the actual poster, 85_Ranger4x4.
