Me and a friend were wondering if anyone has tried this or seen a set up like it. We made measurements on the engine and it's about 3ft. long (I forget whether that was with or without water pump), 2ft wide, and 3ft tall. Length seems to be our biggest concern. Right now its all in theory and I thought to check first to see if anyone has tried it and save us a lot of work if it doesn't. We don't want to have to hack the frame and extend it in that case we'll get a bigger tractor. Thanks for any replies. JaredM

Length can be worked around. The motor has to sit lower in the fram so you may have to cut the frame down to get the motor an inch and a half or so down. You also have bellhousing and starter issues. If you want to keep everything inside the sheetmetal there will be a lot of fabrication. New oilpan also. That being said it is still a good way to gat a motor capable of 700 plus ci in an 88 frame.

If you can run RPM's, the 310 is a better way to go. The head has twice as much potential. The only mod's are using the 880 bell housing. With the right parts and tools, it is only a 6 hour swap.
The intake is on the wrong side on the 451.
