No rules changes. Everything remains the same in that regard. We have a meeting this week-end but don't foresee any major changes. Maybe just some "tweeking" here and there.

Rusty, dusty or "busty" it don't matter. Bring 'em and have fun. Hook will take your picture regardless of how ugly things may be.

I'll keep everyone posted and up-dated...Spotter

I've seen about everything run down there. It ain't no beauty contest, tractors OR drivers, but I have seen some pretty good lookin' of both. I've pulled the last 2 years there and haven't done any good. It's just fun to be a part of such an event. The Mean Green Pulling Team is a bunch of classy folks. (Well, most 'em are. :) They know how to put on a pull and they know how to treat people - like they'd want to be treated.

Why don't you guys try to inforce the rules at Tunica this year? such as checking the hitch and weight after you pull. Instead of worring about how many carbs a tractor has on it, worring about how many RPM's they are turning. Example: there were two 77 Olivers in the 4500 8mph. class that should have been INSTANTLY DQ'ed since they were turning nearly twice as my RPM's as they should have been. The officails shouldn't have to wait for another puller to protest obvious cheaters like that to take action. I just hate to see the Grandaddy of antique pulls become the grandaddy of cheat fests.

well if you don't allow "non-stock" carbs then why does an 8n get to pull with a flat head v8 an edebrock aluminum intake and a holley four barrel?

No, im not saying it was comonly done and i dont care anyways, id never come to such an event that is so big that they are beyond control of their rules. I never new the funk conversion was that common either, ive seen alot more deere with power blocks than funk 8n. I was just simply stating before that yes my dealer did install my powerblock before it left the floor. I know it for a fact becuase their is extra charge on the original bill for instalation of the power block.

That was a option that john deer had, yes you could get them off the showroom floor with a powerblock.my 2 cents

I don't know about your problem, but I do know that v8 8n ford did not pull in stock class. You can check results as to where he did pull. He didn't do much either.

He's running 3 carbs and wants a RPM check? Yeah, right!!! Seems like the rules last year stated the carb had to be "within 2 inches of original location" or something like that which seems difficult to enforce, but that rule in itself rules out a multi-carb setup. There's no way to get 3 carbs mounted within 2 inches of the original location. I really like the way your rules read now.

It's time for him to step up and defend his mentor, then we can get on to a REALLY serious subject...like pedal tractors...I think it's unfair that some of those "pedal pullers" have longer legs than others which definitely gives them a leverage advantage. There should be "leg length" subdivisions within the age brackets...Comments please!!!!....Spotter

I know it. Those Funk V8 8N Fords are just taking over aren't they? 10 years ago I had never seen one up close and personal, and in the last 5 years I've seen 2 of them. Ford and the Funk brothers must be back to making them again. Hey, while you're checking the Pedal Pullers, make sure the length of the pedal arm is within spec's. A longer pedal arm gives a unbelievable advantage. Better check the PPM too. (That's Pedals Per Minute!) Extremely high PPM are a hazard for hyperextended knees.
