I have a wd 45 diesel that I have just started pulling. Can anyone tell me how to turn the injection pump and how much. The engine is stock and pulls good but I would like to see a little black smoke. The tractor has a 230 Buda with an American bosch pump.

At the back of the pump there is a pump 7/8-1in..Plug.. take the plug out.. and look inside the back of the pump.. there is a threaded rod in the middle of a sleeve.. on each side of the sleeve there is a slot.. (the sleeve is threaded to the rod in the middle.) You need to turn the sleeve in.. you'll have to make a tool... some thing like a screw driver socket.. with the middle cut out..

How much should I turn the sleeve? I tried two turns in, but did not notice any difference in how the tractor was running. Although the tractor was not under a load.
