I`ve been pulling a CA for 3 years now. But it seems that I can`t get all my power to the ground. I pull div II here in Ohio. I pull against other CA`s and they walk all over me. I completely rebuild the engine 3 years ago, new clutch and pressure plate. No expense was spared. Removed the hand clutch, all hydraulics. Put on 14.9 x 24 tires. The tires helped but still getting beat, and I don`t mean by a little either. The only thing that I can think of is that my clutch is slipping. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Rob

we pull a Ca that my brother built with junk parts, 3 pistons don't come to top of block, uses oil, have to put plugs in before everypull. Tractor has never powered out in any weightclass, 2500 up to 4500, stock size tires. usually a top 2 or 3 tractor.

also, I have a set of factory engine weights willing to sell. anyone interested?

No I don`t run out of power. Yes it will spin out at the end of the pull. I pull in classes from 2500 up to 3200 lbs. The other CA`s that I pull against are running the same tire size that I`am running, but when they go sometimes 100 more feet than I do, well something is wrong.

Sounds like you need more weight towards the Rear of the tractor if you spin out that far behind others! Of corse thats on the track that you spoke of! Is your hitch Up as high as alowed? How long is the sleds chain? Long or high = weight towards the rear, Short and low = more weight towards the front.

Sounds like weight issue to me. Look at the amount of weight and the location that the others are running. Also tires, are you running hard, sharp tires?

Are you running out of power or are you running out of traction? I can't really tell by what you said. If you have a slipping clutch, that should be obvious near the end of your run.

I have a "C" that I put 12.4 28 tires on to make it competive. They use a little more power. They are not realy good for 3mph class, it speeded the tractor up to much. But they might work good on a "CA" because they had a lower first gear.
