Is it possible to make a F400 series 124ci continental engine into a 162ci model? I know the engines a identical on the outside but don't know if the cyclinder walls are thick enough to make that much overboar. Thank you

My father bored his .500 over to 3-1/2 bore. Really helped the little thing.

I replaced my 124 with a 162 in my MH 20. I wouldn't bother with costly machine work. You can find donor motors from forklifts, welders, generators, and the Massey 30 and 101 had them. But keep your head, governor, distributor. There are two varieties of distributors these motors used and each had a different size hole in the head and dist driveshaft. These motors also could use a front or rear mount governor off the timing cover. My Massey 20 uses rear mount and my buddies Oliver super 44 uses a front mount because a mag rear mounts off the same gear. I do believe the only difference is bore between the 124, 140, & 162. Stroke and cam specs are the same.
