Can someone help me? I have a stock 301 in my 560, I am running the carb that came on the motor that i pulled out of the combine, I have changed the intake to a cold setup. I am running a 3psi pump from a tank mounted on front weight bracket. MSD, Petronix ign. Problem is tractor runs like a scalded dog until it gets under a pull, then the carb seems to run dry and tractor falls flat. I have not done any mods to motor or head and running same carb that was originaly on motor. RPMS are only about 200 higher. What could be going wrong???

This probably sounds stupid but I had the similar problem several years ago. I changed fuel pump, fuel lines, took the carb off numerous times and come to find out there was a bumble bee in the gas tank and it would plug the fitting in the bottom of the tank. Make sure everything is clean. Also check the float level in the carb. How did the bumble bee get in there? I still don't know.

Sounds like it may be on the lean side. If it set for a while before you got it chech the jets and float level.

It could be a case of the vapors,,, Did you rejet the carb? Combine engines run pretty fast, 2600+,,, are you 200 rpm above 2600, or 200 over the 560 rpm? Carb setup would not be the same if its running slower,,, Chad

Is your tank or cap vented? If fuel is being pulled out, air has to come in or it will get a vacuum lock and nothing will get out of the tank. You could try running your cap loose and see if that solves the problem.
