About 30 miles from where I live; in Greensburg, IN they have a 20,000lb farm stock class during there fair. They pull front-wheel asist dualled tractors and non-front wheel asist tractors with dualls. This is interesting because the tractors with front wheel asist won't get the front wheels of the ground were as the guys without front wheel asist will have there front ends come up about 2-3ft, but they will still pull another 30 maybe 50ft. Also in Greenville, OH during there fair they have a 25,000lb farm stock class. In Goshen, IN they pull concrete trucks and in Arcola, IN they pull half loaded tri-axle dump trucks.

In Elkton MI. we have MFWD class and a track class that gets people worked up. The sled has a hard time stopping them. The deere tracks out pull the cat.

I have been to a couple pulls in southeast Nebraska (Pickrell and Adams) where I think they have an 18,500# class. I've never seen anyone pull a front-wheel assist, though. Usually there aren't even any 4840s, etc at them. It's just the same guys that pull in the 12,500 and 15,000 throwing on a bunch more weight - I'm sure the beer tastes extra good after a night of throwing suitcase weights, although a lot of them have bars built with wheel weights on them that they can pick up with quick-hitches. Still a lot of work, though.

While it isn't the same, a local club has a dead weight pull called King of the Hill. Rules are rather simple
*Tractor can weigh as much as you want. Some of the 720's were weighing well over 20,000#
*For the smaller tractors, the pull starts with half a barrel and goes up from their. You can join in at any time.

I believe that the sled will end up weighing over 20,000# when the night is over.

They pull 6000, 9000, 12000, 15000 and 18000 farm classes at the Armada Fair (Michigan) pull in August. You can pull a front wheel assist equipped tractor but it must be dis-engaged. Allowed 10% on horsepower and 5% on rpm. Everyone is checked on rpm and the top places are checked on the dyno.

Take care,
A.P.

They have a similer class at a local fair. Last summer they had a several Ford 8970's, JD 8300, CIH 8950's + MX 240 all with front wheel assist and full set of front wieghts. JD + CIH were about equel just ahead of them was the Ford's and you might not belive this but a Fendt walked away with the whole thing beating all of them by almost 10 feet. It was quiet a show it didn't really come down to power the fendt's automatic transmision was smoother and did't loose traction with any big shifting jumps.

There used to be a lot of 16-18 and a couple 20+ classes here in nc Ill about 10 or so years ago , now there are very very few they have gone to the group-club pulling usually no heavier than 12,000.
I used to run a 4640 in 16 and 18 , no duals though I was chicken to do that , it ran pretty good , had good low end torque , I'd run her in B2 and when you got a good bite the front end would be a foot or so up the last 40ft . I have seen those pulls advertised in the Farm Week paper , I get it now and then , I think it's FarmWorld now . I thought of loading up and heading east to one or so but never got the job done seems like there is too much to do nowdays . Do you what the rules are? Can you open the pumps up and what's the rpms allowed . They used to leave us run a couple hundred over stock and we could open the pumps all we wanted but that's all . We used to have a lots of fun back then with out spending much except paint , polish and fuel now the biggest check book wins .

Jeremy , up to a couple years ago they had 16,000lb dual class at Boone Co Fair in Belvidere , now they have a 10,12 & 14 sort of a freeforall , no limits on anything I think some are running 3500+rpm , too expensive and risky for me .
At the small towns of Wyoming and Laura they have dyno classes ,10 , 12 , 14 , 18 and 22 , the 22 is a mfwd class I don't know about duals though . We go there every year , our old 4430 won both 14's this past year , dyno at 165hp the 10 is 90hp , 12 is 120hp and I think the 18 is 225hp .
These are small towns , pull is supported by donations and you can't believe the people there . They start about 10:AM , they also have theWest Central Tractor Pullers , lots of smoke and fire , pickups , antiques and sometimes it goes on till almost dark .

I think you can run over stock rpm's. They have a 13,500 dyno and a 13,500 non-dyno class at Greensburg also.
