hi All.
I have inherited Dad's old 1953 super C with two point hitch. I want to start going to Tractor pulls, and play with the tractor. It's tired, and needs an overhaul anyway. it's a sleeved 123 CID gas engine, last overhauled in 1978.

I would be interested in hearing from the pros in how/what to install in the engine for more horses, without getting crazy with it, what would work, and what to use. Ive seen the 1 1/4 overbore kits, that seem the way to go. Cam? fuel? electronic ignition? the pull it next month, I need to get busy! someone told me that a international 230/250 engine would fit the tractor, but I dont know about that. any advise would be appreciated.
Andy

The first thing is to loose the 2 point fast hitch! You will start in 3500 and without it you can start in 3000 and those will be the 2 main classes you can compete in! Without going to a combine C-153 that requires a lot of work to get every thing hooked up You can buy a 3 1/4 oversize kit and have the head cut to true it up up to maby .060 and have the head and manifold ported, or a later head, manifold and cam, carb work done and pertroncs ign and get 30+ HP and then you need to hook it to the ground with some larger tires becuse 11.2s won't cut it with that much power it that lite of class.

Id take it to that first pull and pull it as is. Dont care were you place but this will give you a good idea what you want to do with it and many people like me love watching an actual stock farm tractor pulling even if it only hits the 100' mark. I pulled my grandpas old farmall H, some tracks i only go 50-100' at most and other i am in the top 3, this tractor have never been rebuilt or modified in any way, and let me tell ya, cheater get embarased when they get beat by something like that and it is the best fealing in the world. Now on the same note i pull a 80hp massey 44 in the same class as that little tired H so i go from both sides and generaly do decent on one. I normally dont take both in one day though.
