HI
you know i find it funny that one week you pull against a 1960 G VI (6) or as the idiots call it a G5. Then the next week the rules are 1958 and older, and your pulling against a 1958 GB diesel with a factory conversion. And its the same tractor with a GVI serial plate.
I think all the casey rules (SITPA) has it right, just leave them out or like you say make a class for themselfs, just call it, all others open class, let anything that wasnt to pull run against them.
it says in the rules no tractor made to run on diesel can be converted to gas. of course it says that in the USAP rules also but they are 1959 so that make a GVI legal to pull.
We pull every week and get beat agianst the biggest John Deere 830 in the Farm Stock class but that ok cause after you spend $50000 i guess you gotta beat something, but I find it disturbing that you have to hook agianst a tractor that was never built, in a 6500 lbs class.
If you make a class for the 6 cylinder minnies to run by themselfs, do you think you would really have any show up to pull by themselfs.
You had a good pull in charleston this year despite the track conditions. I think the USAP pull and gas prices made it hurt the worst.
This friday in a 1959 an older class how many 6 cylinders are going to go to Arthur pull in an open speed class. If one or two show up it makes me wanna stay home.
I say just leave the 6 cylinders out of the game.
But thats my opinoin and it means nothing.
so to answer your question most of them run in 6500 and up, i think 12 might be a little slow for the biggest ones , maybe just say open and run at that.
hope that helps.
P.S.
what about a 10000 lbs no blower farm stock class on laber day weekend for my IH 560

"what about a 10000 lbs no blower farm stock class on laber day weekend for my IH 560"

I would agree with you becuase that is something like i am looking for. Your only problem would be im looking for a class like that to run my Massey Ferguson 97 in wich is the 504 ci minni mo 6 cyl diesel with about 105hp. Now im not real sure about a IH 560 but wouldnt you say the 97 is alittle more tractor. And this 97 is pure stock, not modified in any way, not stripped, 2 sets of wheel wheights on the back and a set of front wheel weights. Weighs in right around 10000 depending on what scales im on.

Well i guess my 560 isnt stock.
it has a 478 Cu in V-6 GMC truck motor in it, and you sit on top of a 100 gallon gas tank. The best thing about it is that you can still farm with it. the guy that built it used it for years over in the river bottoms around covington ind. and i have seen it pull 6-14 plow fairly easy.
i plan on plowing with it this fall some. or at least 100 gallons of gas, so i should get a 1/2 day easy .
I guess im just looking for something to play in with a 4020, dont really wanna try anything against 1466 turbos. i only have about 120 hp
and cant use the torque.
your 97 should do really good in that class, our GTBD does ok at 8500 lbs, its just long and nose heavy, it has the 425 at about 90 horse we guess. would like to try a 95 or 10 class with it some time.
