Just tore my M down today and I'm ready to make it pull better. I wanna go with 4 1/8" bore but the only thing I see is step pistons do they make that size in a firecrater. Does anyone recommend a better piston. I will need to bore the block to fit the 450 sleeves right. I wanna get the cam ground also. Is it better to get a 450 cam and grind it or should I just use my m cam Thanks guys.

If you have a 264 the 281 sleaves will go in. If you have a 248 you have to bore the block or run it sleavless. They can grind the M cam to 450 specs, or even wilder depending on what all your doing. Pistons depend on what head your running and if you want to order custom. The step head are similar to the firecrater and will bump the compression. Jake

Forget the sleeves, have custom pistons made and run in the bore. You can push to 4.31" with very little trouble. Any good machine shop can fill the counterbore where the sleeves use to protrude.
Run ya about $400.00 bucks more than a set of stock sleeves and pistons. You can also change compression ratio to increase H.P. with a custom piston !
