One Late Styled "A" regularly appears at the Delaware County fair, Ohio each year... What enables the change-over is that the crankshaft is removed, and a differential (ring & Pinion)is installed in it's place, with a machined shaft exiting either just the clutch-side, for the hand clutch to be used, or both sides..in this case, a set of locked spiders would be needed... Then, the engine is mounted and connected to the differential... The 350 GM V-8 Diesel makes a nice choice, too...!

I saw a rough unstyled John Deere at the Portland IN show last Friday with what looked like an Olds 350 diesel engine in it. Don't know any more about it. I do have a picture that I can send to you if I can figure out how to do it.
