I'm from NS, Canada, and just returned from Kansas. We came back with a MM G1000 wheatland. We have a pull here where I'm from and am wondering if this will beat a 830 JD. Both are stock. This guy has to be brought down off his high horse and I hope that this will do it. Is there anything that I can do to it to "help" it along? I have done A bit of pulling and can place the weights in the right places.Any help or guidence will be greatly appreciated.

YELLOW'S RIGHT YOU HAVE A 30 HP ADVANTAGE IF HE'S STOCK AND THAT CAN BE A BIG IF.IF YOU CAN PLAY WITH THE TORQUE BEFORE THE PULL AND SEE WHAT YELLOW TALKING ABOUT THEN USE IT IF NOT PUT IT IN LOW AND GET THE JOB DONE.

MM puller you have a 30 or more hp advantage over the evil green machine , I had my butt kicked by a couple G1000"s when I had a JD 4020 now I see the light . My money"s with you hands down. Hell I might drive up from New Hampshire to see this. You have a big split in the torque so make sure you go to the low side at the RIGHT rpm or you spin out . or leave it low gear eat a burger and pull it on thru!!! good luck,, Bob

Well, I hope that I can judge the right rpm with it on the high side before I drop it in low.We are only allowed to use first and second. Would there be any sense of putting it in second on the high side and then droping it down or use first on the high side and drop it to the low side. I was reading the books on the MM and they have 510foot lbs of tourque and the 830's have 430 or somewhere there close. With 80 more lbs torque, this should benefit me also. Would it help if I turned the pump up a bit?

What weight class are you pulling and what size rear tires do you have?I'd probably pull 1st gear so you dont have to shift down.I pulled a G-900 with 18.4x38's at 12,000 lbs and 1st gear did the best on it.We had the pump turned to 110 hp.

The tire size is 23.5x34. I'm going to try the 10,000lb class as well as the 11 and 12,000 classes. The tires were the ones that came on it when I bought it. Will these be ok?
