Thanks again to Perry and all of his crew for a great pull today. Everything was great. Good to have both sleds going again. Thanks to all of the pullers for making the Russell, Arkansas pull what it is. There was a good crowd on both sides, participants and spectators. There were people from all directions. This is the way it's supposed to be. I hope someone from the Mississippi Mafia will let us all know how Big Sonny is doing.

Great pull in Arkansas today. Thanks to all who put it on. John, Susan, Ryan and I got in Keith's little car and checked on Sonny at the hospital. He got released and headed straight for Mr D's and ate about five pounds of catfish. Must be on the road to recovery.

Thanks all of ya'll for the great pull and the help with our mishap. I have a real bruised butt or as the Dr. put it pelvis(by the way the hospital at Searcy has a great staff also) I'll be real sore in the morning Ryan is staying at our house tonight he is sore and the reality of how bad it could have been has set in.
I consider myself one of the most safety- consious pullers around so I hope everyone takes notice it don't take but a little problem to cause a big accident.

Sonny is doing ok,no broken bones, just real sore. He was able to drive home after being released from the emergency room. I am sure he will be real sore tommorrow as well as Ryan, he took a hard lick also. Thankfully neither was seriously injured. Doc

You know, that blown head gasket on Sonny's tractor may the best thing that ever happened to that family. I sure would have hated to see that seat break with Ryan running 12mph down the track! We'll never know, but there's almost always a bright side of everything. Glad to hear they're both alright.

I only saw it after the fact, but this is what happened as was relayed to me: The seat came off with him just as he was heading up the ramps about to load it onto the trailer. Of course, he and the seat fell off onto the ground which was about as hard as concrete except for the grass. The tractor went on up the ramps as his son jumped on it and tried to reach the shut off. The wheels turned and it ran off the right side of the trailer. The sudden force threw his son several feet. The right tire was on the ground and the right wheelie bar pad wedged under the trailer edge enough to keep it from turning completely upside-down. It was a terribly dangerous situation. And just to think, the only reason they were loading it was the tractor developed a miss on one cylinder just as his son was about to make a pull in a 12mph class. Thinking about what could have happened during a pull gives me chills. I'm just glad they're alright. Sonny and his son Ryan are very safety conscious. This was just one of those things that no one would think to check...until now. I know I checked mine and several other pullers' seats out after this. I saw some other folks looking at mine too. Everyone check you seats and brackets.

Lamont, glad to hear everyone turned out ok. Is this just a by-product of customization to save weight, or did a factory part fail?

Not really sure of the cause. Broken/loose bolt? Broken weld? ????? It is a highly modified tractor, but can"t point to the use of lightweight materials as the fault. In fact, that aluminum wheelie bar took a heck of a lick. It bent, but did its job in this case.

We had a real good time pulling up there with yall. Perry and the crew done a good job. I am proud to hear Sonny and Ryan are going to be OK. I am a BIG boy myself and have done some seat modification to mine also. I took a look at it also. I had a little trouble fitting into the truck heading home with Jeff since his head was swelled after he got the KOH. Hang in there and keep up the good work.
