Just wondering why one guy says his tractor will put out this or that and its more than ive ever seen. That is from a stock engine. I had a man tell me he has a 88 oliver putting out 120 at an idle now you tell me how he figures that one. I have heard all kinds of storys like that but when i dyno a tractor one mine they may be one thing on my nieghbors 10 diffrent both mw dynos same models. I guess i wondering are all dynos reading a little diffrent or are some storys just BS.

Vinter..the way i read a dyno is to pull the tractor down to 535 rpm on the pto and read the horsepower directly off the gauge..make sure the throttle is full open..i pull the tractor down to 500 rpm and take a pressure reading..then to 450 rpm and take a pressure reading..then to 400 rpm and take another reading..get the conversion dial out and compute the horsepower with the pressure and rpm..you can use the horsepower readings at the different rpms and compute the torque at the different rpms..if you read the horsepower off the gauge lower than 535 you will get higher readings..lynn

PROBABLY BOTH MACHINES ARE NOT CALIBRATED THE SAME GIVING DIFFERERNT READINGS. AS FOR WILD
READINGS THEY PROBABLY NEED A OPPERATORS MANUAL FOR THERE MACHINE.

aroud here our "fun" pullers don't worry about what the dyno says,Get the power you have to the track, most set-ups can only handle so much power before the spin out.Depends on how you like to pull,"zoom and spin" or "putt and lug"Hitch, track surface, weather, weight placement, sled, driver attitude, flag man, beer cosumption, all control the distance of a pull.
